Speech be the president of the university Mr. Álvaro Mendoza
Abstract
In a country like Colombia, where the respect for lite is among the lowest of the world, it is urgent to deepen the sense and the scope of life and human dignity. The debate that has summoned the Sabana University tries to confront, on a pluralistic view and with deep intellectual seriousness, the reasons that justify the defense of the right to life with which they limit the exercise of this right. The debate is not only reduced to the confrontation of the ideas of those who profess a certain religious conviction and of those who do not, but also considers an anthropological perspective, in light of certain conceptions of man, not necessarily tied to principIes derived from religious creeds.
