Abstract

Today freedom is probably considered as the greatest esteemed value. In this paper, the different limits of freedom are analyzed. This analysis of the concept is unfolded by the ontological, psychological and moral meanings. Finally, the author concludes with a proposal on a definition of freedom and its implications in the understanding of reality.He conceives freedom as limited, however, its greatness is based on the possibility of being related freely in a loving initiative with God.

Author Biography

José María Barrios Maestre

Doctor en Filosofía con premio extraordinario de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid (1987), y Profesor titular de Antropología Pedagógica en dicha universidad. Adelató estudios en las universidades de Münster (Alemania) y Viena (Austria). Autor de Positivismo y violencia (1997), Elementos de antropología pedagogía (1998), Moral y democracía (1997) y varios libros en colaboración. Autor de más de cincuenta ensayos publicados en revistas científicas de filosofía y pedagogía.
