Educar ¿para qué?
Abstract
Discussion on philosophy of education draws back to its aim issue, arising the question: Education, for what? Undeniable, during last century remarkably developments on methodology and teaching techniques, have been achieved, mainly instruction using state of the art technology on audiovisual media. But, as regard to education per se, its goals, and its essence, in other words, philosophy of education, we are experiencing a tremendous backward. Character shaping, ethical and moral values transmission, should be mandatory in school and university to really educate individuals; otherwise, we are solely providing knowledge on science, arts and technology to form a poor materialistic, short goal, myopic idealist human being.
