Abstract

This article offers a critical análisis of the historiographical production about the political, social and pastoral participation of the catholic clergy in The Violence (Colombia, 1946-1953). It takes the fundamental features from that approach, which it identifies as "present historiography". Besides, it proposes to enlarge the possibilities of interpretation when overcoming the analysis centered on the relations of power and including aspects that allow to go deeper in the cultural and spiritual reality of this subject matter.

Historiadora por la Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, Licenciada en Lingüística y Literatura con Especialización en Administración y Dirección de Centros Educativos por la Universidad de La Sabana. Actualmente es profesora del Departamento de Historia del Instituto de Humanidades de la Universidad de La Sabana.
