Abstract

Karol Wojtyla and John Paul II's poetry has universal values, but it has stíll been poorly spread and it's hardly known. The main characteristics of this lyric work are given in this article, specially by means of aphoristic phrases, maxims, paradoxes, sentences... the reader will find considerations about the Pope-poet-philosopher's poetry, regarding the relationships between thought and language, the New Humanism aspects, prophetic phrases, theological and philosophical perspectives, etc.
