Abstract

The topic of freedom is truth. University at present is in danger of falling into relativism and skepticism, among others. Those are diverse effects when daring to pull apart freedom and truth. But as truth is opposed to error, ignorance, lie, etc., those and some other “isms” don’t seem to get along with truth. Moreover as truth concedes various levels, those current trends are also in a hierarchical disagreement with the possible reachable truth level.

Author Biography

Juan Fernando Sellés, Universidad de Navarra

Doctor en Filosofía por la Universidad de Navarra, Profesor adjunto de la misma universidad. Entre los años 1995 y 1997 estuvo vinculado como profesor visitante en la Universidad de La Sabana. Entre sus publicaciones cabe destacar los libros Conocer y amar (1995; 2° ed., 2000), Curso breve de Teoría del Conocimiento (1997), La persona humana Vols. I-III (1998), y en esta misma colección, los Cuadernos: Hábitos y virtud, vols. I-III (1998), Sobre el bien (1999), La prudencia (1999) y Razón teoríca y razón teórica (2000), Las pasiones del alma (2000) y La sensualidad (2000).
