Abstract

Literary reading is one of the most enriching activities to enjoy. The habit of reading the classics, poets included, must be formed since childhood and adolescence because of its importance for acquiring wisdom, for widening our experience and for learning to live. Simultaneous to the reading habit, it is necessary to assimilate literary quality criteria in order to select what is worthwhile.

Author Biography

Manuel Casado Velarde, Universidad de Navarra

Catedrático de Lengua Española en la Universidad de Navarra, donde dirige el Departamento de Lingüística Hispánica y Lenguas Modernas. Miembro correspondiente de la Real Academia Española. Ha sido profesor en las universidades de Sevilla, Autónoma de Barcelona y La Coruña. En la de Navarra ha sido decano de la Facultad de Comunicación y vicerrector de profesorado. Sus investigaciones y publicaciones tratan sobre el análisis del discurso, etnolingüística, lexicología y gramática del texto. Forma parte del consejo de redacción de varias revistas científicas.
