Abstract

Argentinean poet, prose writer and essayist Leopoldo Lugones (1874-1938), one of the most outstanding representatives of Latin-American Modernism, is considered to be a “spiritual father of a fantastic story”. He introduced into the Argentinean literature the term “fantascience” which is analogical with the Wells´s term science-fiction. Most of Lugones´s stories belong to the group of so-called “fantasy stories” which include works of “dreamy fantasy”.
