Abstract

The objective of this article is to develop certain ideas about the nature of poetic discourse in the epistemological discussion of language pursued by the Vienna Circle during the second half of the twentieth century, especially in the work of Wittgenstein and Rudolf Carnap. It also it brings to the discussion the particular vision of language presented by Michel Foucault in his work Words and Things, while intending, through synthesis, to use the work of Octavio Paz to identify and gauge the role of the poetic word in that discussion.
