Abstract

There are many existing approaches within the philosophy of technology that express different positions on the relationship between technology and ethics. It is a fact that technology becomes a means for some and an end it itself for others, but it also becomes second nature, with implications and ethical challenges of paramount importance. In this context, the thinking outlined in this paper is intended to support the rationale for technology as second nature, to analyze the tecnological risks involved, and, ultimately, to uphold the thesis that motivates this thinking; namely, Ethics are, as yet, insufficient to deal with the new developments raised by the current technological phenomenon. These developments require moral regulations adjusted to the new technological challenges and provocations.
