Abstract

This paper studies Arendt’s critical interpretation of Hobbes’philosophy. The goal is to examine the confrontation of its antagonisticconceptions of politics based on the different understanding of key termssuch as common sense, freedom and power. This analysis shows how theconflict largely revolves around the reduction or not of those categories to thesubjective or private sphere.
