To respect human life
Abstract
Using the Encyclical Evangelium vitae as a point of reference, the author emphasizes sorne theological and bioethical aspects of the value of human life. It is not exhausted in its physical dimensions. However, the health and respect of the body are important parts of human dignity. According to this, what must the criteria be for the term «quality of life»? How does one integrally respect human life? The fullness of the life of man must be searched within the mystery of Christ. The sense of suffering and death is in the revelation of divine Love and it happens maximally in Christ, the Cod-man, who redeems human pain with his suffering. Finally, the author argues that human being can never be treated as a means, and he says which the violations of this fundamental principIe are.
