Abstract

This study underscores the value of the verbal language in the context of the “mass culture”, which pays more attention to icons and estures. It also highlights the sociopolitical extent of words and the risk of their manipulation. Words constitute the most essential vehicle of human relationships. At the end of the article some considerations are exposed about linguistic corruption on bioethics so prevailing nowadays.

José María Barrio Maestre, Universidad Complutense de Madrid

Doctor en Filosofía por la Universidad de Madrid, con Premio Extraordinario. Profesor Titular de Antropología Pedagógica en esa Universidad, con dedicación completa desde 1987. Amplió estudios en las Universidades de Münster (Alemania) y Viena (Austria). Autor de 10
libros, 25 en colaboración, y más de 70 artículos en revistas científicas de Filosofía y Educación. Profesor Visitante en varias Universidades.
